Design Inspired by the Coast
The new stadium concept draws from the natural beauty of the Sunshine Coast:
- A curved roofline reflecting waves and shifting sands
- Open, breezy concourses inspired by the hinterland
- Shaded outdoor spaces that echo our relaxed coastal lifestyle
The goal is a venue that doesn’t just serve the community — it expresses who we are.
Built for the Future (and 2032)
The upgrade will significantly expand the stadium’s capacity and capability:
- Seating increasing from 1,046 to more than 10,000
- Improved accessibility and player facilities
- New community and event spaces
- Ability to host 20,000 spectators during the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games
Architectus will work alongside global sports architecture firm HKS to ensure the venue meets international standards.
A Long‑Term Community Asset
The project forms part of the $7.1 billion Games Venues Infrastructure Program, jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments. Beyond major events, the stadium will support local sport, attract tourism, and strengthen the region’s identity for decades to come.
What It Means for the Sunshine Coast
For residents, this upgrade represents:
- More opportunities for local sport and entertainment
- A boost to the local economy
- A venue that reflects the character of our region
- A lasting legacy leading into and beyond 2032
The Sunshine Coast is growing — and this project is a powerful step toward shaping the region’s future.
